We Need You
Your Union works best when there is a Steward in every workplace. A Steward understands the unique issues of that workplace, so they are best qualified to represent those members.
As we want good representation for every workplace, we are asking members to consider volunteering to be Stewards. If you are interested, please contact your Local Executives.

About OPSEU
Provincially, OPSEU has over 130,000 members in three major sectors: Broader Public Sector (BPS), Ontario Public Sector (OPS) and Colleges of Applied Arts & Technology (CAAT). OPSEU consists of 19 regional offices in 7 geographical regions (map below) with a staff of more than 300 people which specialize in bargaining, grievance handling, pensions, benefits, health and safety, human rights, communications, education, and much more. OPSEU provides its membership a strong voice at local labour councils, and in larger bodies both provincially and nationally.

To pay for this, OPSEU members contribute union dues at the rate of 1.375 per cent of gross pay. Total dues revenue (2010) for the union is approximately $87 million per year. Of this, five per cent goes directly into the strike fund which is currently has a balance of $41 million to support OPSEU members who are fighting to improve and defend their collective agreements.
