STOP the WAGE FREEZE Campaign

OPSEU members know that Premier Dalton McGuinty’s wage freeze isn’t a “freeze” at all — it’s really a cut in pay equal to the rate of inflation. When one member of our local went online to complete the Wage Loss Calculator, it showed that if McGuinty succeeds with his plan to push this wage freeze through, the member will loose $9000 over a 5 year period! But the wage freeze is not set in stone, and has not been legislated. Its ‘Bargaining as usual’ as Smokey Thomas said some months ago. You can do your part by going online to http://www.stopthewagefreeze.ca and figuring out how much the freeze will cost you and your family. You will find information on how much you’ll pay and where your money is really going. Once you know how much you’ll lose, you can take action and send the result in an e-mail to your MPP by clicking the ‘Take Action’ button. Also, check out what OPSEU is up to in its campaign to STOP the wage freeze, and you can even enter a contest for a chance to win $500!
